Vincennes City Clean-Up

Event History

The annual event began in 2004 as a way to improve the aesthetics and safety of the community while promoting the endeavors of both local and national non-profit organizations. Teams from Vincennes and the surrounding area dedicate the first Saturday of each May to collecting debris in a designated area. As a reward for their efforts, Burkhart Insurance donates $10 to the non-profit group of the team’s choice for each bag of trash collected. To date, more than $25,000 have been donated as a result of the clean up.

Our 13th Annual City Clean Up will take place Saturday, May 6th (Rain or Shine).
The deadline to sign up a your team is April 28th.

Additional Information about this year’s event:

  • The goal is to contribute $250 for your non-profit organization.
  • Each bag will be worth $10 to the non-profit organization of the group/individuals choice.
  • If a group or individual makes a request for a specific street that they would like to work we can list that when they call in otherwise the streets will be assigned when they pick up the bags. We just need to make sure that we don’t duplicate any streets.
  • Each group will need to have a designated person to pick up the trash bags which will be available at Burkhart Insurance, located at 16 N First St. on the day of the clean-up. This person will also be responsible for dropping off the filled bags by noon, to be counted to determine the amount that will be sent to your favorite non- profit organization.
  • Checks will be given at the Chamber Bandwagon Lunch to be held on May 24th at the Food Court of the Student Union located on the campus of Vincennes University. This event will take place at noon. If you are unable to attend, checks will be mailed to your non-profit organization.
