Founded in 1958, Burkhart Insurance established roots in historic downtown Vincennes, Indiana. Since then, the agency has grown and expanded locations. We now have agents based in Vincennes, Terre Haute, Mitchell, Newburgh, and Washington, Indiana, as well as Bridgeport, Illinois, all focused on serving you.

What is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)?

The Certified Insurance Counselor title signifies team members who have attained a high level of professional education and are committed to a course of continuing education. The Society of C.I.C.’s goal is to provide insurance and risk management professionals with an excellent, comprehensive and integrated continuing education system of practical value. C.I.C. covers all areas of insurance, including personal lines, commercial casualty, commercial property, life and health, and agency management. Each institute is followed by a rigorous examination. Successful completion of all five examinations gives the participant the right to use the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor.

What is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)?

The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation empowers outstanding individuals to provide exceptional account management and customer service. CISR courses are known for preparing front-line professionals to analyze risks, policies, forms, and claims data and communicate that understanding clearly to their clients, carriers, and colleagues. Earning the CISR designation is tangible proof of an individual’s commitment to a superior level of customer service—for clients, as well as for the agency.
